I like that the headlight case is black. I live on a rural paved street with no streetlights. I took it for a test drive the first night, plenty of light for a casual ride. Personally, I wouldn’t go for a ride in unfamiliar territory as the beam is fairly focused in front of you. Meaning, you adjust the mount up and down for distance or close illumination. You can’t really have both. It does illuminate both lanes of the road. Perhaps a second lower power light for the close up illumination would be a great combo for some folks. Mount is easily adjustable for different size handlebars. The powerful flashing feature is why I bought this light, for daytime visibility.

The tail light installed quickly and has the super bright flashing capability as well.

The tail light can really be seen from very far away. The front light is good enough that can be used in dark streets. I agree with those comments that cannot be used off-road but for urban usage these 2 lights are great. I would totally buy them again

These are the best lights that planet bike offers. The rear taillight with superflash will definitely get anyones attention. The front light has a strobe affect similar to a police when they flash their red and blues. Very effective in getting noticed by drivers. The front light is very bright, has a high, low, and strobe settings. I wouldn’t use this for a trail light as it doesn’t have much flood. This is probably be the best light there for urban road use.

Headlight: attaches/detaches in seconds, very easy to install. Run time is excellent with regular alkaline batteries but much better when using nimh rechargeables. The light is bright and does a nice job keeping the bike trails illuminated. People really notice the flashing mode which I use in town. Build quality is excellent and comes with a lifetime warranty from Bike Planet (to the original owner).

Taillight: installs easily, detaches from mounting bracket in seconds. Battery life is excellent. This is a very bright taillight! Same great build quality and warranty. I’m very pleased with both products.

  5. I use this combo to stay alive on the roads when I’m commuting to / from work. Without a bright head & tail combo I find cars just… don’t realize you’re there. These work great: I feel like the 1W gives me enough visibility to do a solid 25mph in the dark on the downhills without getting too hairy. My only complaint is about the plastic mounting, especially on the tail light: it’s weak and poorly positioned. First time I took my bike to a shop and they put it in a grip the housing for the tail light got busted immediately. It still works, but it’s no longer on there securely.
